Andhra Pradesh Gas Refinery Explosion
At least 14 people killed in the state of India Andhra pradesh near Godavari district due to the refinery pipeline explosion. 15 people reported injured in the accident, while over 50 houses were burnt.
The refinery is located in the village of Nigram, and being told that the accident took place when the pressure exceeds in pipeline.
From the pipeline in approximately 200 meter area flames of fire are up, after the accident the surrounding villages are being evacuated.
The injured have been shifted to hospitals Kakinada and Amalapuram.
Five vehicles of firefighters are on the scene and rescue workers are currently trying to extinguish the fire. State officials have reached the spot.
Petroleum minister said about incident
While Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan said in Delhi that: Fire has been controlled. The gas pipeline has been shut. This is a very serious situation and I have ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident.
